hey all my oil light keeps comming on at idle at about 600rpms...now its JUSt started doing this after i did my oil change to valvoline sythetic 10w30 oil...is the oil too heavy for my car pump? when the rpms get over 1k its all good light goes out but at a red light when idle goes down to 600 light comes on...i was using 0w30 oil prior to this 10w30...figured heavier oil would quiet down my valvetrain noise 10w30

Try swapping the filter.
IDK if the 10w would make that much difference. It might have some impact tho. My XJ carries higher oil pressure at idle with 0w. But it is only 3 to 5 psi, which would be the limit of the OP switch in out cars.
The switch could be failing too. If there is any seepage at the switch, it is almost a given.
If a new filter/switch doesn't cure it, try swapping back to 0w. f it clears up, then the pump, or the bearings are worn, or something is bleeding oil in the engine.
The pick up may also be partially blocked, restricting oil to the pump. The 0w would flow better past a resritiction on the suction side.

has a big green connector, right-rear of the engine beside the exhaust manifold.

If you are standing at the front of the car, facing the engine, the switch is in the middle of the engine on the backside above the exhaust manifold.

You mean below the exhaust manifold?
There are a few threads, so a search might yield a pic or two....
If you were to remove the battery, you can reach around and touch it.
(I'm still talking about the sender)

I don't recall reaching under the manifold. I reached over the top of the valve cover and it was right there? Maybe I "misplaced" the exhaust manifold location...

I guess so. That damn transaxle makes it look like the middle.

i dont think that the 10w is your problem.
im running 15w40 in mine and she still runs and beast most cars on the road.
so i think its your oil light sender.
