calling all ATX owners using the camaro muffler setup..
calling all ATX owners using the camaro muffler setup..
before i go the route and order the muffler dynomax 17739 , i know it sounds good, i can deal with some droning...
what im asking for is who here with an ATX, has the camaro muffler, and have you LOST low end at all using it?
i am not trying to start a back pressure, scavenging, discussion..
i get the basics.. backpressure, scavenging, exhaust velocity, cooling etc..
im using the stock piping.. i cant remember if im 2" or 2.25". in my 01
just tryin to see if going from the 2.25" after the axle into the 2.5" in dual 2.5" out hurt your low end torque... goin to the freeflow and larger pipe diam from the muffler out..
3spd auto here<------------ im already handicapped by the gearing...
need your input....

By the time the exhaust gets past the "axle", it doesn't really much matter what it's doing as long as it's not getting blocked up. Don't worry about the performance aspect.

I've noticed a loss in low end torque, but the muffler won't cause it... It's because I have a full 2.5" exhaust now. I have that same Dynomax muffler.
PM me for your 03+ PCM SKIM/VIN flashing needs. Neon PCMs Plus
awesome, just what i needed to know, thanks guys,....
edit, decided on a single outlet.. scrapped my dual plans, ordered 17732 walker dynomax.. basically same muffler, but single (possibly side exit after rear tire) instead of dual... probably a bit quieter too which is fine.
rockauto had it for 34$ shipped.. cant wait for it to get here.
