Can I use another brand/type instead of making the trip to the dealership for the expensive Mopar specific? If so, then what do you recommend?
Any info will help. Thanks guys.

i us prestion but dont get that 50/50 stuff as you are paying for water when you get that. get the other stuff that you have to mix water with.

Yes, you can use the green coolant as long as you completely flush out the system.

I have successfully used the "all makes all models" coolant in our old Jeep and VW.

How many trips are you making for coolant?

I also agree, don't buy 50/50. It's a complete waste of money. It costs the same if not more and you get half the coolant.

The advantage of the 50/50, is you are getting straight water, instead of tap water. There aren't any minerals/chlorine/fluoride in it that could have an impact on the coolant life/sensor output. Distilled water is what's supposed to be mixed with the straight antifreeze, but how many ppl actually buy a gallon of distilled water when mixing it?

I know I would never use the water from my parent's well in my cooling system. The water heater elements need cleaned monthly to get the deposits off.

Basically it is a convenience, that has a price tag, like every other.

Edit:
But back to the OP's concerns...

Use Water Wetter, or equivalent in your coolant, if you want better thermal transfer. You may not see cooler temps, but your heater will begin to roast you a lot faster. It will prolly help with keeping the turbo cooler, more than anything.

Flush and refill with G-05. Buying a $1 gallon of distilled water and getting 2 gallons of 50/50 is still better than paying an extra $2 for 1 gallon of 50/50.
