I was driving and hit a huge puddle my intake is in wheel well and it sumerged the filter the car died and when i restared it , it sounded like someone swinging a baseball bat in a metal room it made horrible banging and knocking sounds i was wondering wut might have happened and wut i should do please help

You more than likely hydrolocked your engine... do a search for more information.
Just as an FYI (for a future hydrolocking) the absolute worst thing you can do if you drive through a puddle and your car stalls is attempt to restart it, water was sucked into your combustion chambers and when you attempted to start the engine back up you unknowingly attemped to compress an incompressable fluid. Next time, pull all the spark plugs out of the engine and crank it (get ready for old faithful!!!) once it's done spitting water out of the spark plug holes go ahead and put a couple of drops of oil in the cylinders, throw the spark plugs in and hope there wasn't any damage. This time around, your more than likely broke/bent a rod, destroyed your bearings, etc... Better luck next time!

Side note: why don't CAI manufacturers put warnings on their products about this (if they don't already)?

I even did it. Although I was going down the highway and it was toast already so I didn't have to crank it to find out I was fucked.

I thought my starter went bad years ago when I did this and I push started the car to get it to fire, and of course broke rod #1 doing so....

yep... I was the latest victim of Hydrolock. Whenever there is a chance of a flash flood in this area. I am taking the wife's buick!
