Just want to get some more advice on intake. I currently am running a stock intake but I just got a Perrin silicone one. I was thinking about buying an AEM and just wanted to know the benefits between having an aluminum one vs a silicone one.

i would think a silicone intake would stay cooler? but if it's not like, reinforced or something, won't it eventually collapse?

I guess it feels real rubbery and not that sturdy. but its rated for high heat and extreme cold.

anything other than stock won;t get you that much gain, the stock intake minus the fender mounted resonator will get you as much hp as any CAI,,,,,

Well, at least from my experience, I didnt feel much of a gain removing the resonator, although I should have. My 1st "homemade" intake was to remove the resonator, bought some plastic flexable tubing from walmart, ran it thru to the fender well and attached it to the stock air filter on one side and to the TB on the other side. Punctered the AIT sensor in place and that was that. Sounded awesome with factory exhaust and the butt dyno was happy, could have been the exhaust note tho. Not recommended but hey, times wuz hard.
