No start HELP

I just bought a 03 sx 2.0, the owner said it would start and stall. So i thought crank sensor. I went out to look at it and the battery was dead. Talked to the owner and he said the fuel rail wasnt getting fuel or something like that. He didnt really know anything about cars. So then i thought fuel pump was getting weak.

So long story short i bought it for $500 and got it towed home. Put a battery in it and went to turn it over and nothing. The starter isnt getting any power. No clicking or anything. So where do i start to trouble shoot. I know people are going to say start with starter but they just put a starter on it like a month ago and i have the papers to show it.

So where should i start?

Just because they put a starter in doesn't mean it's good. It's possible that it went out already.

Other than that, I'd check wiring first probably. Or try jumping the starter? I believe a screwdriver between the starter terminals is the way to do that, but I'm not sure.

If it turns over there, I'd check the wiring going from the battery to the starter, and if that's good, I'd check the fuses.

Putting power directly to the starter will test it.

Try swapping the horn and asd relay and see what happens.

Also double check your terminal connections on the battery... you never know, could be loose or a bad connection.

When my car wouldn't start it was because the ground wires fell off. They were located by the drivers side headlight.

Did someone try starting it without the skim key?
If they did this 3 times the pcm will lock out the system, hence no crank...
The key you are using, is it a black head or a grey head?
To mee it sounds like the car is locked out....

Im using the chip key, but doesnt mean someone esle didnt do that. The red dot isnt on, on the cluster so thinking thats a no. I tried to jump the starter with a screw driver and nothing. So going to pull the starter and replace that.

Are you sure you have power at the starter? Did you at least get a spark?

Seems like a bad starter or a locked up motor then.

If it were locked up, you'd just hear the starter click. I suppose it's possible you could miss that somehow?

Here's hoping it's something easy like just the starter going bad.

there is no click at all, it was -14 today so didnt really try much. Tomorrow is calling -20 i think. So will be a couple days before i pull the starter. But before i do that i will look for all the grounds and so on. But i know when i turn the key no click or anything.
