Ok so here is the deal my valve cover is fugly paint is all of and dirty as he'll
So my question is can I use the plastic vc on a 2001 r/t as I picked up one not knowing there plastic ones out there lol

yes you can use the plastic one. it mounts the same on an r/t.

But if I'm not mistaking the aluminum ones are better since they absorb heat. I think that is what caraudioholic told me a while back. Makes sense. It's like putting a metal spoon in a cup of coffee. It helps cool it.

hmm, that is an interesting concept. never thought of it that way; though i suppose it could be like a heat sink being as the aluminum is a highly conductive material...

They would transfer heat better. Unless your coolant system is full of bologna, I don't think it would cause a noticeable difference.

The biggest things is that you can powdercoat them, and the PVC valve won't crack it when overtightend.

The heat won't really "transfer" efficiently, as the gasket separates the metal to metal contact. It might help radiate some heat tho.
The metal one seems to insulate the valvetrain noise a little better.
