Hey guys. So an old neighbor contacted me tonight about his 03 sx2.0 ATX. He just replaced the motor for reasons unknown to me. He replaced it with another 03 one. Anyways he did this all himself and now the car will NOT start. It turns over but will not start. He took it to a mechanic and the mechanic is making him spend all this money to diagnose it and trouble shoot. He told him it was the crank sensor, replaced and still nothing. He told me that he somehow connected the + wire that was for the starter to his alternator (how? I have NO clue lol). He figured that was wrong after seeing smoke from the starter area but thinks he may have "Fried" his computer. Is this possible with that little BIG mistake? His mechanic tested for spark and none turned up no signal to the injectors. If I remember correctly he said they received nothing using a code reader. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm going in tomorrow to take a look and bringing a 2.4 pt gt atx ecu with me to see if we receive any signal with a code reader. I know it won't start the car but can pinpoint whether the ecu is the problem or not correct?
Thanks guys,
Adam
Uh oh, another one? Need assistance quickly!
