Where to get a specific intake manifold

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Where to get a specific intake manifold

Post by inthewerks » Thu Jun 09, 2011 11:53 pm

Hey all. There a member on this forum (maybe more than one), who had a pic of an intake manifold that I want for my car and I dont know the name of it or where to buy it. It is polished aluminum I think, and the manifold itself kind of looks like a barrel or fat tube. It has very short runners that bolt onto the head. I hope my description is specific enough for you guys to figure out what I am talking about. If you know, can you tell me where I can purchase one? Thanks.

I saw something different but the closest relation I found after researching both the lone wolf and the AMM was it looks alot like the lone wolf one. Are those intake mani's available for the 2.0? The info I saw on the sight relates to a 2.2 or 2.4 for dodge.

I am looking for the same thing for my 05. I got hold of Lone Wolf Performance and waiting for a price. I looked for all motor mike online and didn't really see anything. How would I get a hold of him(all-motor mike)

You have to contact AMM directly through PM on here or neons.org.

Just a heads up about AMM, he traditionally has extremely slow response times. I do not have any personal experience with him but I have seen many unsatisfied customers due to time.

Sent him a pm and I have time to wait, because I have my car in the body shop and I only work on it when I have time after work.

AMM has a dealer section on neons.org and is very backed up right now so he isn't taking any more orders.

He's slow at times but I don't think anyone has ever complained about his item's quality.

I don't even think Lonewolf is in business. If they are, I wouldn't use them. Their main fabricator that made all that sweet stuff they have pictures of on their website doesn't work there any more.

Dagnabbit!!! So probably looks like either wait for one to go on sale in the boards, or go with a r/t manifold and drive myself batty trying to figure out the wiring for the secondaries. I am an electrician by trade, but when it comes to auto electrical, I am such a :tardbang: I wonder if my uncle can weld something up for me. All I would need is some cast runners to bolt up to the head and a tube to weld them to with a port for the tb right?

I don't doubt the quality at all. I've seen pictures and the welds look good, and on aluminum that's an art. It's just that I would probably never buy one from him solely due to the time he has taken.

What is that? My brother with the srt mentioned that to me but I have no idea what he is talking about. Basically, I want to add this http://www.modernperformance.com/crane- ... -2198.html either the #10 or #12, when I do my timing belt, water pump, and tensioner and want a better flowing head as eventually I will be going turbo with my sohc. Just trying to get the cheaper stuff out of the way first.

Thanks. I wish I had a search button. All I see are letters and numbers and things like shift, caps lock.... just joking man. Was very tired last night and just forgot all about searching. But I thank you for posting those links for me.

It was more like a "Wow, I actually got some results" moment. Usually it takes some serious sifting.

Lol. I actually followed and read EVERY link you so gracefully posted for me  , talked it over with my brother, and decided not to go that route. His primary concern was how well the plastic welds would hold up once I go boost. He recommended for me to get an r/t manifold, and not worry about hooking up the secondaries for now. Once the turbo is installed, to just remove the butterflies from the manifold altogether for a better boosted airflow. Does that sound about right? Head is not going to end up being ported although we did come to the conclusion that the crane #10 grind is worthless, and we are now pondering the 12 or 14 grind.

Why remove the secondaries? Just prop the lever open, and be done. Not sure why everyone goes through more work than needed.

The plastic weld wouldn't be the weak link, it would be the runners/flange. The ABS tube will prolly handle more psi than the engine can handle. The main fear would be an intake backfire, But then those can damage more than an IM...
