Was driving home from work tonight and car died on me. lost power randomly. had to push it home about 2 miles. FML.
anyways, plugged in my code reader into car and it didnt read the ecu. like no power went to the reader. do have lights and all that acc. stuff. car cranks but wont turn over.
is some sort of wire loose? or ecu crap out? or what?

Fuel pump kicking in? I am almost certain it's not. When you say it cranks but wont turn over, what exactly do you mean by that? Try retrieving codes by doing the key dance. I have a feeling you're having the same problem as me. It's part of the ASD and it's a effing piss off!

Car sounds like it wants to start, it just needs that one thing to turn over. The motor is getting fuel, i flooded it out today trying to figure out WTF is wrong with this peon.
forgot how to get codes through key dance, refresh my memory?
ASD, awwwww FML.

What did you do to get her going? Cause I'm havin the same problem. However changing the relay is not the problem. It's more severe.
Also to do the key dance you turn your ignition "On" "Off" "On" "Off" "On". Look to where your trip and mileage is displayed and it will flash all the p codes stored in the ECU/PCM. Remember to have a pen/pencil and piece of paper with you.

ahhhhh... ok thats how you get the dance again. lol.
replacing relay was part of the issue, but not all. checked wiring harness and all was good. back tracked to find out my fuel pump fuse was blown. dont get it, car flooded but had no fuel pump power. 1GNs are retarted i guess.
im sure flooding the car a few times didnt help but after a few miles of driving, car shut down again. not due ASD or fuse, but injectors froze up. replaced them and car runs great now.

You should have specified which neon it was.
Your '97 wouldn't give you codes in the cluster. You would have to count CEL flashes, and then convert the OBDI code to the OBDII code(s). The scanner will give you the OBDII codes, but the ASD was prolly the reason you had no link to the scanner.
