Motor mounts vs Motor mount inserts

Post by C1DoG » Mon Jul 11, 2011 3:06 pm

I was told by my mechanic this morning that my motor mounts need to be replaced. Which would be better?

Inserts need to go in new mounts, so you'll need to get new mounts either way.

This.

You can get new mopar mounts from Modern for $$$$$, Low dollar ones from Rock Auto for significantly less, get AGP solid mounts from Modern for about $150 (iirc) or get BWoody solid mounts from BWoody for $120 (iirc).

Cool, I will look into the BWoody ones. So the mounts for the SRT will fit, just not the tranny mount... Am I correct on that? And last question.... Is there any preference between the BWoody and the AGP mounts? Or does it even matter?

My understanding is the SRT and non-SRT mounts are the same.

I can't see a difference in them other than price. Both are reputable names.

You will have more vibration with solid mounts though.

IIRC, one of the upgrade SRT mounts requires installing larger diameter bolts into the top of the motor mount bracket.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.

So what would you suggest?

It isn't a huge problem. Someone had a thread on changing the two studs that hold the top cap on.

Or just be sure the brand you buy uses the standard set up.

Can't find that thread, but I'm sure someone will speak up.
