Missing sensor on magnum intake?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Take the nut off the stud. It's a ring terminal.

which plug from where? there are the 2 vacuum hoses and then the sensor on the left side by the MTV. You need to transfer the MAP sensor from your old plastic intake, but use the screws from the R/T intake or if you don't have those screws it is (2) M4x10mm machine screws.

Do you mean the o ring for the MAP sensor? If so, then you will have a vacuum leak. It may have a big impact on the MAP reading, since it would be flowing right at the sensor inlet.

Any other gaskets on the IM will be a major vacuum leak. Not good.

The Map sensor is the one that you take off the old manifold right? If so, the oring is still on there. I'm talking about the gasket that connects from the manifold to the head Bill

You do not want to run it without the IM to head gasket. Unless you want to test the rev limiter. :D

Where did you order the IM gasket? Most advance, or AZ stores stock them. Or can get them in one day.

Hahaha, yeah I pretty much learned that once I started up the car.

I just set everything up, dont plan on driving the car until I get the gasket so I'm all set. I placed a parts request at the local stealership, hopefully it isn't something ridiculous like $2.50 a piece for those mag bolts. :cussing:

So yeah, a missing gasket will made it idle high as hell. Once it starts up it idles fine but then a few seconds later it shoots up like no tomorrow.

Thanks once again Bill
