Timing belt snapped / Codes - NOW WITH VIDEO
THREAD RES!
She's gonna live. So timing jumped, are my pistons fine? If that's the case, I've got a head lined up (still), a DOHC head, or I can even buy new valves and disassemble, replace, and reassemble.
Actually, all I care about is if the pistons are damaged. If not, I'm doing head work and getting on the road. If they are, I'm back in the same boat.

I seriously doubt the pistons are damaged. There might be a slight mark on them, but as well as it was cranking, they may not have even touched. Have you tried just replacing the timing components, and seeing if it starts?
I would still do a leakdown, to see if any air is blowing by the valves if it does run. Otherwise, you develop some burn't exhaust valves/seats, and be replacing the head anyways.
Of course if you want to go DOHC, then there is the issue of the timing belt expense. Sadly, I just pitched the one from the daughter's 1gn. It had some marks on the backside from the idiot that installed it previously, but it would've been fine for a test run/compression test.
IDK if I would trust the belt that jumped. Unless you have the hydro tensioner, and it is bad enough it let enough slack, but even then...

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

Heck, the SOHC head is probably fine too. Like said, just do a full timing belt job with tensioners and water pump. There's a kit on rockauto with everything you need for like $100. I bet it solves all your problems.

I doubt the timing was off enough to bend any. Get all the timing stuff anyway, since you are going to need it regardless. If it doesn't work well after doing that job, then swap the head over.
