Oil in exhaust port?

Well today I was swapping my stock header for a longtube header, and upon inspecting the exhaust ports for carbon build up, port #4 had more buildup then the rest and it was oily, and when I removed the valve cover, there was this wierd grimey build up on spark plug tubes #3 and #4 and when I looked on the underside of the valve cover, there was the same stuff over the #3 and #4 plug tube area of the valve cover. Not sure what I'm looking at, wish I got pics but my camera is shot..

Not sure about the stuff on the plug tubes, other than the PCV valve isn't working well enough, or the oil hasn't/hadn't been changed as often as it should be.

The oil in the port is a valve stem seal. They prolly need replaced, and possibly the guides also. Just replacing the seals with worn guides will wear the new seals out much sooner.

It's probably the PVC now that I think of it. The oil cant be the problem.

Thanks man
