taking air filter cover off?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

taking air filter cover off?

Post by msimkonis » Sun Apr 29, 2012 7:55 pm

Hey I have a 2000 Plymouth neon with a 2.0 4 cylinder and I was wondering if taking the black air filter cover(the plastic that encases the filter) would have any negative effects, I noticed a much deeper sound when driving, any help would be much appreciated!!

filter will get dirtier faster, I suggest getting an K&N drop in filter if you're keeping the cover off
