Ok..I have just learned that the 02 magnum cam I have run across is bigger and therefore I assume a better cam then my stock 00 cam..How much larger cam is it? Do I need new springs and such? Power gain estimates anyone? Current mods are TTI long tube CAI and im getting a udp, larger tb, and af/x race pcm..thanks..

having swapped to a mag cam with similar mods im gonna say it almost isnt worth the work. i would say comp 400, mag springs and retainers ,new timing belt, water pump and tensioner, tune up maybe and call it a day.

If it is cheap, it may be worth the effort. You will see a small gain, and fuel mileage won't really suffer.

With a mag head, you will see better gains, (with about any cam, except maybe stock) but the mag head will affect fuel economy. For whatever reason... I lost about 3 or 4 mpg just swapping from the regular to the Magnum head. ('02 Mag cam)

Porting the regular head would make better use of the Comp/Zex 400 cam. If only on the exhaust side. The Mag intake ports are basically the same as the standard intake ports. My standard head was actually almost perfectly gasket matched to the R/T IM gasket. The R/T head needed a bit of work to get it that good. :tardbang:
