The mtv opens and closes when its supposed to from what I can tell. Its just at idle the digital switch reads the rpms wrong. But when I rev the car up, the switch reads the rpms correctly. I don't get it.
Think the tach adapter might be the answer

Ya, I got the same switch. And MyNeon is saying it right. Once you put pressure on the throttle, even to raise it a couple hundred RPMs, the digital switch will read the correct RPMs. If I have the hood open and motor running, you can hear the secondaries flipping open and close "at will".
I just haven't had the time or ambition to try to find a solution...

if the secondaries open when you want them to then i wouldn't mess with it

I wish I could get a decent video of what it sounds like when the secondaries open... And close, then open, and close all in one gear pull. It works, yes, but in a strange way.
Ya man, let me know if that tach adapter works for ya.

And plus I dont want the mtv motor getting burned out quicker from it turning on and off way more than it would normally

I would call Jeg's technical service, if they have it, and see what they recommend. Then if w/e they tell you doesn't work, send it back, and tell them it's what they recommended, and have the shipping paid.
If this thing doesn't work as advertised, I would want my $ back, so I could get something that has been proven.
Plus with MTV motors basically no longer available new from Chrysler, you don't want it to get messed up.

Any update on this? I should get a video of what's going on, maybe help explain it a bit better...

well ordered a sunpro tach adapter from summit racing. Hooked it up but the rpm switch wasn't even reading any signal at all. Haven't had the time to really mess with it, just tried it quick that one day. Work is busy and when I'm not working I'm with the gf and my baby boy.. Try to do it sat morning. I'm post if I figure anything out
