Udp.. is it worth it?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Udp.. is it worth it?

I put a udp on my car and the battery light comes on once and a while.. Is the performance gains worth having it? Should I get a odp? Or upgrade the alternator? Idk if my alternator is just on its way out but my gauge cluster will dim down when at idle and get brighter when revved up?

Just looking for opinions

The udp will rotate the alt slower so if its tired it may need replacing OR the ODP..

As for performance gains....ehhh if its the only mod youve done to the car it probably wont do much but with a few other supporting mods you may get a better butt dyno feel

I would look for an 'OD' (overdrive) pulley for the alternator.
Lorenzo on 'The.Org' should have them.

Likewise, replacing / Upgrading your alternator may not be a bad idea, if it needs it.
The N/A (Naturally-Aspirated = Non-Turbo) PT alternator will bolt in, like it grew there.
