P0113 & P0123 codes....won't rev past 2500

Post by neonrt_98 » Tue Mar 25, 2014 9:33 pm

I just bought an '03 SXT with a broken timing belt. Put a new head, timing belt, and water pump on it and it runs great going down the road but I'm getting a P0113 & P0123 code and it won't rev past 2500 rpm in park. I changed the IAT & TPS sensors and reset the PCM but I'm still getting both codes.

Ok so you've replaced the parts those codes point to but they remain. Did you check the electrical connections, make sure the plugs were clean and free of corrosion, and lastly check the wires for breaks due to things like fraying, irregular bending, eaten by squirrels, etc?

My next step was going to be check the wires for breaks or shorts. The plugs are all good. I was just checking to see if there was anything else I needed to check.

The IAT code wouldn't keep it from revving, but the TPS code will. Usually P0123 will come up if the TPS is unplugged, so a poor connection somewhere is likely.

The PCM has no idea where the throttle is, so that is limiting the fuel being injected.

Seriously people, this is 2019 not 1920.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.
