One year ago, before hitting 90k miles I decided to change the whole timing belt kit: Timing belt (Gates Blue Racing Belt), tensioner (Litens), belt tensioner pulley (Gates), alternator belt (Gates Racing), serpentine belt (Gates Racing) and water pump (Bosch).
The original water pump, which had more than 10 years, was still working great. However since I was changing the timing belt I decided to change it too. It was a new Bosch 96118 Water Pump.
Now, one year later the water pump failed. It started to make a scratching noise. Since I replaced the timing belt a year ago, this time it was a little easier to dissasembly all it takes to take the pump out, but still a lot of work. Water pump bearings are gone.
So buyer beware with the Bosch water pump. Maybe I got a lemon. I ordered a GMB 120-1300 water pump this time, hope it is better!
