Ok, so call me crazy...

There's a guy over on the org that swapped his car from automatic to 5-speed (I think it's an 02). In his swapping thread, he says that on stock automatic cars, there's a 4400rpm rev limiter in neutral and park on the automatic ECU. He got around it by wiring the neutral safety switch to the clutch pedal switch. Now the car revs normally, but when the clutch is in, it limits it to 4400rpm.
So... I start thinking... is there anyone else that thinks that this would make a NASTY strip setup? You sit at the line with your right foot planted and it just stays at 4400rpm until you let off the clutch and off you go?! Plus, on the street, you wouldn't even notice the difference. Would it be as easy as tossing in an automatic ECU?? Or am I dreaming here?
I haven't heard of anybody deliberately doing this, so if someone has, please chime in!
