Wire Tuck

Post by LaidNeon » Tue Jun 13, 2006 2:02 am

I don't think i have ever started a thread or replied in a thread in the Engine Section, so i thought i'ld made it a good one.

Im looking for a How-To / Pics of a wire tuck job on a 2gn neon. I can't find pics of one anywhere, but i can find V8 & hondas with it done all day long. For you noobs, this is what im talking about

Image

I love that look, & i plan on doing mine very soon, but need a lil more info on it before i attempt it. If it was anything else, you guys know i would dive right in. But since it deals with wirering & me being color blind, i thought i'ld ask a few questions first.

The Questions:

1) i know you have to extend the wires, but where do you run/hide them?

2) Any pics of a 2gn neon with it done?

Check out VwVortex Dan, under the Golf/Jetta II forums, alot of the guys there hide their power wires. Most of them run them inside the inner fenders, behind the firewall and inside the frame rails. They like the smooth bay look, so alot of the guys over there have done it. Good luck, and find a NON-colour blind person to help you ;) 8)

I imagine it could be done by tucking the wires into the fram rails ont he sides of the engine or through the bumper support but aren't Hondas PCM under their seats or somewhere else in the passenger compartment? I'd bet that helps them out a lot more since majority of the hookups would be made inside the car where ours are all made under the hood.
