Oil Leak, center of car just ahead of the firewall...

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Oil Leak, center of car just ahead of the firewall...

Post by EmersonHart13 » Fri Jun 16, 2006 12:07 pm

I have a leak just ahead of the firewall, right down the middle of the car. I belive it is oil. I will be checking the car later on but looking for ideas of what to look for.

Thanks!

check the oil pan for leaks and depending on how many miles are on the car, the sealant between the pan and the block may need replacing. same thing happened to my friends car. if it leaks a lot, you'll be able to trace it quickly. also check the oil filter and make sure its tight.

Yeah, mine leaks. If we're talking a quart every 1500 miles, that's a good place to start. If we're talking a quart every couple of days, then look to the RMS.
Fix it 'till it's broken. Then upgrade.
