so i swapped my car to 5 speed almost 2 years ago now i want to go to fully built atx curious as to if the alabama boss hogg converter on howell is lockup or non and i no they make valve bodys looking for transbrake one and can i use the ring and pinon gears out of my mtx in the auto also anyone with the higher stall converter how bad is it everyday driving and on the highway......

I believe a fully built automatic is bad for everyday driving. Thats what I have heard.

PS, why do you want to go back to an ATX!?

fully built atx is not bad for everyday driving... high stall is not easy for everyday driving but is very possible. as far as the stall converter goes check out http://www.levelten.com/ they offer built atx tranny setups as well as kits so you can get it done yourself. Also when you give them a call they can help you with getting a custom set stall that is higher than normal but still easy on a daily driver.

good site tho ill definetly give them a call. and the reason im going back to atx is because i blew 2 mtx tranns and my speedo hasn't worked since the swap plus i like the whole pro ratchet shifter in a neon idea, thanks for your help

That's funny. My speedo on my 01, worked good for a week after the swap then wen't dead/crazy. I'm pulling the speed sensor this weekend to see what's up.

Did you attempt to fix the problem? It was plug and play but I don't know what happened. I pray the plastic gear hasn't come off the diff.

As far as you question I have no clue but it's a 3 speed that really doesn't do anything well, not acceleration or top speed. I dunno, after my swap I won't ever do it again in my garage with jacks and I would feel quite shitty going back to atx.

ok so i thought it over and i really don't want to swap everything back over so i ordered fidanza 5.4 clutch and i got a new tranny so as long as i don't have work next weekend like i do this weekend ill have a car back next week and will break the clutch in when i got to my grandparents house for thanksgiving.......

im glad everyone voiced there opinions cause they were right there is no sence going back to auto cause i remember my auto was very slow now i got the 75 shot so my car will be farely fast with a decent clutch..... thanks again guys.........

my speed sensor dosnt work eaither its pissin me off. any 1 know where i can buy a digital cluster or just a digital speedometer?
