Dumb question about clutch

Hey what is the flat plate thing called that the clutch connects to?

Is it the flywheel? I thought that was connected to the clutch itself.

the flywheel is bolted to the crank and the clutch bolts to the flywheel.

im pretty sure i got that right. im not super familiar manual tran's and clutches, but i do know a little.

thought it was...

flexplate: used with an auto trans, torque converter bolts to it.

flywheel: used with a manual trans, clutch bolts to it.
