MTX 3.55 into an R/T or ACR

I've browsed the forum for hours looking for this specific info, so I figured I'd just post the question...

Does a MTX trans from an 01-05 ES or SXT (3.55) just bolt into a 2gn MTX R/T or ACR without any extra work (wiring, different parts, etc.)?

I need a longer 2nd gear, which I was hoping to get with the 3.55 trans, but I don't know what kind of job I'd have ahead of me.

Yes.....
As long as you are already MTX, its all plug and play. The only difference between the 2 trani's are the internal workings...

LOL, I want to get rid of my 3.55's and go 3.94's. You'll probably need to shim things up so the gears mesh right but other than that it's just a standard gear swap like any other.

P.S.
If you can afford it and if you don't already have it this would be a good time to add a LSD diff to your MTX. OBX has em' for just over $500.

it's really not plug and play, depends on your current clutch setup. Is your clutch hydro or cable, sorry you didn't specify which year Neon you have already.
