I'am looking to swap my (2000) 220 000 kilo engine for an 2001 R/T engine. I actually have a 3speed atx. I will make the change to a 5 speed mtx. Do I have to take an RT transmission or just a normal 5 speed from a 2000-2002 will fit.
What are my choices?
Thanks.

Your choices are: keep the ATX prolly won't see much gain.
Use the "normal" 5 speed will get better performance prolly the best MPG.
Use the R/T trani for the best performance.
Keep in mind you'll also need all the related pieces/parts to do the swap. (if you didn't know what's involved)

with the motor I will have intake, manifold(exhaust) PCM, ALL the wiring. and that's it. Do i need something else or will I be ok.
I think I can take every other pieces of my engine to put it on like power steering and things like that. Is it possible?

Everything should interchange between the two engines they are the same block. The pistons are the same except the Mag ones have a coating on the skirts(?) the head is different as far as the exhaust ports and the rest you pretty much got covered. The only snag that may bite you is if the PCM has a Sentry key feature I believe it was an option in the '01-'02 cars. If it does you will need the key it came with and the module that goes in the column. If the wiring is "complete" that should be there There is a VIN number on the PCM you may be able to do a VIN decoder to find out if ti is sentry or not or call a dealer give them the VIN and they can tell you.

I don't think it will tell you if it has sentry tho. Call the dealer or PM Black Rose Racing with the VIN and he may be able to tell you. It is good to know before you install the PCM and it doesn't work. Your old PCM will run the motor, you just need to control the butterflies with an RPM switch. just do a magnum intake search on here and you will find the details
As far as the MTX you will need the MTX pedal assembly. As you have a 2000 find the 2000 and older MTX for your swap the newer ones are hyd. clutch and will need alot more work to fit your car. Find one in a junk yard and get as much as you can. you will need the shifter, cables, pedal assembly, clutch cable I don't know if the1gn pedal assy. will work in a 2gn tho. you'll have to search this section for answers as there is no "sticky" on the swap
Oh and some of the sensors are different IIRC. The IAC motor will have to match the computer used the 2000's are stepper motor and the '01-up are a variable linear solenoid or something like that. Either way the the PCM can't drive it unless the proper one is there I hope you have the TB for the '01 motor. there may be other sensors that are different, hopefullly someone else can tell you. This is the bich of having a model year that is stuck between the 1gn and 2gn as far as "under the hood" there are alot of left overs used.
