As far as I know, yes.
As for the other stuff, someone will be able to chime in about it.

Get a maddog STS. There is NOT a better one on the market.
Ask just about anyone who has one.

The maddog seems to be one of the favorites. The cheap ones only shorten front to back, but I believe maddog shortens the side to side as well.
They have a decent video on youtube:

Maddog and Mopure are true short throw shifters. I hear good things about the Mopar unit as well. Definitely one of those three.

I like my Maddog more than the Mopar unit.
Maddog 80% with Booger Bushings and Johnny Mopar Cradle Bushings.

I'm voting for Maddog, and I still haven't bought one yet.

Seems like maddog is the way to go, do they have a website?
Btw, can somebody explain what 80% and 72% and what not means exactly?

That number is the reduction in throw, or the distance it takes to shift gears. I'm running the 72% with 2in reduction, making it an 80%.

Maddog isn't a company, just a guy that makes a good product. I don't think he has a website, so you'll have to pm or email him to order one. He has a post in the vendor forum:

maddog 72-1 STS above all! I love my shifter; i think the best combo is maddog shifter, solid cradle mounts, booger bushings, and mpx shift knob.

The best kind of short throw shifter, is the one you buy, and ship to my house!

Please

I had the mopar and liked it, I have the maddog now and love it

My Setup: 80%, 1" height redux, black PC rod, MSC 2" Polished SS knob (heavy), booger bushings, solid cradle mount and royal purple in the tranny... IMO the perfect feeling shift and I wouldn't change a thing

I have a Maddog in my Daytona and I love it! I worked personally with Chuck (Maddog) in developing the shifter and his craftsmanship is VERY good!
As for the Neon, I made my own and it's more or less modeled after the pictures I've seen of the Mopar Performance STS (1" aluminum spacer). I wasn't looking for anything crazy for my daily driver, so I didn't go too nuts in developing it.
But, definitely go with a Maddog. He gives you a huge list of options for your shifter so you can tailor it to your needs. Great stuff.

Had a maddog in my 1st gen. I wouldnt buy anything else. He'll do anything custom that you would like as well. Mine had a chrome SRT rod with a short boot and classic Hurst ball on top.
