i loset third gear in my 02 and i have 2 choices of trannies..
1st gen rt-$350.00
or
02 acr tranny _ $400
the first gen was completely rebuilt at 98000 miles
the 02 tranny has 24000 miles on it and comes with the bellhousing
i cant use the first gen bellhousing
i will be using a stage 3 spec clutch if that helps the decision
which tranny do u think would be the better buy?? thanx

They got that 'stronger' rating because of the clutch I believe.
The first gen trans has a shorter first, second, and fourth gear. In order to use it, you will need your bellhousing of course + about $15 in special sealer + surface prep + possible shimming of the diff. Then after you must check for preload.
If you arn't comfortable with this, definatly get the 02 trans.
