so i was lookin into the "free" automatic trans mod where u cut the wire by the TCM that retards the timin so it shifts faster. and i was reading the threads from both here and stratusfere but all the links in the threads were either not workin or didnt help me one bit. me and my friend already opened the hood, but didnt actually want to cut any wire in fear of cuttin the wrong one, so if anyone with an automatic has done this some info on how to do this, using the switch or not, could give me post that would help and even some pictures would be helpful. i am doing this mod because i dont have enough cash to swap in a manual (which i would love to do) so please no posts sayin to do the swap or that this mod wont work because i believe it will without being harmful. thanks

BTW, I was one of the guys who originally thought up this mod on 2GSS.org, and it travelled to Stratusphere from there. It does provide a noticeable improvement in shift, but I would not describe it as earthshattering or anything.

Could be the reason you won't find that yellow/brown wire.

And this would likely throw a CEL...
