I'm putting a non magnum engine into my 02 ACR. The junk yard is telling my mechanic that it won't work because of the transmissions being different. Does anyone know if there is a difference. Is there a model number or something too? Crystal said something about them all being T350's???? I expect to swap my intake and exhaust manifolds over to the new engine and i just wont have the luxury of the magnum head. Basically all in all, will someone link me or show me proof that all the manual transmissions are the same no matter if its a base neon, r/t, or acr. Thanks!!!!

I don't have a link on hand, but the base 2.0 SOHC will mate up fine with the ACR trans.
Also, I can't think of anything off the top of my head why you can't put the base SOHC 2.0 in your car, as far as the harness and other stuff goes.

There is zero external difference between the 3.55 trans and the 3.94 trans.

Gear ratios will be the same, it's only the final drive ratio that changes. The only difference between the 3.55 and 3.94 is the differential (ring gear).

And if you are keeping the original ACR trans, nothing will change. (other than the cam, springs, and exhaust ports)
Did you check the MTX oil for water contamination?
