alright the 5.4 is the one i am looking at getting for the car if infact the clutch is shop... my question is i see it needs a 95 flywheel? does anyone know the differnece in the flywheel types? and if i change the fly wheel will i need to change the starter.... i do not have no 400+ dollars for a aluminum flywheel, but if i can get away with gettin a flywheel for 70 from a local parts store i will do it.....

That's because the 95 was non-modular. Most of the 96+ are modular. Although from what I have heard, there are a few exceptions. Best/easiest to just track down a 95 I would imagine.

IMO aluminum flywheels just aren't worth it due to how much you have to spend on them. I mean in this case, you would be spending as much on the flywheel as the clutch. The benefits just don't outweigh the cost in most cases. If you needed to spool up a big turbo a bit faster, then it may be more worthwhile...but you'll be fine with a stock one.

I can't really comment on the quality of your clutch choice. I know others that run Fidanza clutches and like them, but none in a Neon. I run a Clutchmasters Stage 4 and enjoy it.

I would just go with another brand with a modular set up. You will need to also change the flex plate, IIRC. You will also need an alignment tool.

For that $, you can get a decent modular unit. Just stick with N/A PT clutch options.

alright, so the na pt cruizer options are all the same clutch? i just have not seen a modular clutch that is going to hold over 300hp, all that i have looked are saying for performance cars with less than 300hp.... i know soon i will be over that.......

idk.....

they make modular clutches that hold that power, clutchmasters stage 4 comes in a modular setup, i plan on getting one once i have everything built just for the same reason as you.

I meant PT apps as in made for performance N/A 2.4's. Most of the after market 2.0 modular clutches are built off the PT base, but not all.

The Spec I have is listed for PT or neon. Billet steel flywheel. It is not riveted like the oem either. It appears to be rebuildable. All you would need is a fixture to center the disc, and bolt the (new if needed) pressure plate back onto the resurfaced flywheel. I wish I had taken the time to take pics, the flywheel is sex compared to the oem cast one.

I would steer away from the fidanza clutches. I've been researching performance clutches for a while, and it seems that Fidanza drastically overrates theirs.

Clutchmasters or spec seems to be the way to go. http://www.specclutch.com/cars/Dodge/Neon/1995/Single

This is more what I had in mind. I have the SD851. But I only paid half that. It is a bolt on to the 2.0

The torque rating is the same, but I think the difference is modular or non modular.
