Vibration with Tranny mount inserts

Ok so I installed my Tranny mount inserts a couple weeks ago after buying a new mount off someone. The mount I bought was in great condition, no cracks, tears, looked brand new and was tight as a new one.

After installing it, I love the reduction in wheel hop, but i'm just wondering about the vibration? I've read about every thread i can find on here and very rarely have ppl mentioned abnormal vibration. I only get vibration from about 1.8k to around 2.4k on the tach. It's enough to rattle the fillings out of your teeth!

I'm just wondering if this is normal? I've re-checked my torque strut alignment, re-checked all bolts, everything. I thought it might loosen up a little (which it has) after a while. Just seems a little extreme to me?

Any other suggestions of what it might be? or is this normal?

Thx!

Yep it's normal. I think you bought those mounts from me. My engine vibrates so much the hood moves up and down and my interior rattles.

Yea but you got those big race cams to support that 350 shot of NOS.

I think it's more of a neon thing, not a whole lot of sound deadening to damper the vibrations from the engine. My only recommendation is to check the torque strut distance specifications, that can cause it to vibrate if it's off.

Then again, cheap plastic interior isn't ideal for reducing vibration. Sometimes a little 3m tape or cardboard between certain panels eliminates the noise, but not so much the actual vibration.

Fact.

And it's really just mostly my head unit that vibrates inside. And my kidneys.

Normal. When you go from an OEM rubber to an aftermarket urethane type mount, the added stiffness causes added vibration. The reason wheelhop is cured is for the same reason; the transmission now has nowhere to go under load, due to the stiffer material in the mount.

Aftermarket/performance motor/tranny mounts almost always come with the vibration trade off, regardless of what kind of vehicle.
