Leaking Tranny fluid somewhere?

I went to do an oil change about 2 weeks ago and everything was fine, I did notice I was dangerously low on tranny fluid. Thinking nothing of it I added some in and everything was fine, 2 days later I noticed I was leaking, thinking it was anti freeze I checked the radiator and hoses everything was fine. I then proceeded to check my oil and that was fine, but my transmission fluid was low yet again. I still can't find where the leak is coming from any possible ideas or do you guys need more information? My car I did notice when I put my car in reverse, drive or or neutral it's a hard shift. You hear it clank as if it's real dry. Is the transmission starting to go or what? It's a 2003 SXT

Hey Mate
I had a similar issue with leaky trans oil but it wasn't as bad as yours sounds...
My solenoid pack was faulty and leaking from there...(replaced it)
and when the dummies at chrysler flushed my trans they never sealed the pan correctly twice!....and trans oil leaked from there...but not to the point it ran dry...
You cant miss that stuff as its red as blood...just look to see underneath where the patch of oil is....

Also check your coolant for ATF in it. Especially if it isn't leaking anywhere (yet).
If the ATF is still red, and not getting milky pink, and there is ATF in the coolant you may stiil be safe as far as ATX repairs.
But you will want to bypass the radiator, and seal the radiator cooler, so coolant does not leak from there. You will need an AUX cooler to mount in front of the radiator. Or you can replace the radiator, and take your chances again.

Is the leak external? i.e. is it leaving puddles on the ground/street? Does it look wet anywhere on the trans? There are a million possibilities, need more info.

This was the red flag for me.
But yes, we need more info.
DuhNeon179:
You did not say if you looked at the fluid level in the overflow, or at the pressure cap. If the ATX is leaking into the coolant, the overflow will fill up and you will get antifreeze on the ground. As it gets worse, you will begin to get ATF in the overflow.

^I guess I took that statement differently. I assumed the OP wasn't sure what kind of fluid was leaking for sure, not that he suspected the cooling system was actually involved in the issue. We can haz clarification?

I'm almost positive it's the transmission fluid. It's been running low. Yes it was found leaking puddles on the driveway and street. The transmission did look some what wet but not sure if it was because I ran over a puddle as stupid as that sounds but it was raining.
