have a kinda strange question but I'm looking at adding a small amount of boost to my N/A neon. It has an auto trans and I'm worried about the trans not being able to handel the tq. So I thought I would install a pt GT auto trans. Will it bolt up? also would I need the same year as mine (04) or is there a computer somewhere that I can replace??? please help.

It will bolt up, but yours is a 40te, and the GT Cruiser uses the 41te. It should plug in, but your PCM will not have the right programming to firm up the shifts. It will still be shifting, and maintaining line pressure for maximum fuel economy. Not sure how you could get that info flashed into the SXT SOHC PCM. It may be theoretically possible, but it isn't going to happen. You would need the GT cruiser PCM flashed to your car's VIN/SKIM. Then the misc SOHC engine running on DOHC mods, or the simplest option: Use the DOHC head/GT Cruiser/SRT turbofold in your turbo build. Or swap in the whole 2.4...

Basically an SRT swap, but GT Cruiser style.
