Questions about axles, transmissions, differentials, pretty much anything that connects the engine to the wheels, this is the place for those questions.

So I have searched and searched and have not found anything that tells me yes i can do what i would like to do.
My question is would the T350 be able to be replaced with any 1st gen manual transmission. Preferrably a ACR or RT transmission, I am interested in hearing about someone doing this. What all would need to be altered to make this possible. From what i have read i the stock 1st gen transmission will bolt directly up to a 2000 neon 2.0 engine.
- What about the PCU will the stock one run correct with the older transmission?
Will the 2000 axels work with the older transmission?
Will there be any wiring modification needed to install the older transmission?
What any other unforseen complications may i run into?

yes

as long as the sensor plugs are the same. easy fix, just use the newer sensors

yes

none

the only thing you'd have to worry about is if you're dropping it into like an '02+ with a hydro clutch, which you're not. so you're golden

Yeah they are all the same externally 95-2000 except the plugs on the sensors. Afterwards the only difference is the bellhousing.
The 95-99 Stratus with the 2.0L SOHC and a 5-speed also came with a 3.94 trans.

Didn't all of the DOHC equipped come with 3.94/ .74 MTX's? Well, supplies allowing...
Not all DOHC were R/T and ACR's. (If OP was not aware)
IIRC, '99 was the best overall year, as far as 1gn neon NTX's.

Originally all DOHCs came with the 3.94 and .72. ACR's and R/T's and sports had the .81 5th, including SOHC acrs I believe.
But that doesn't mean in 2012 that a 1998 DOHC Neon you find in junkyard still has it's original trans. Gotta check the part number on the tag, or pop off the bellhousing and look at the marks on the teeth of the differential/output shaft.

QFT, even ones that are still being driven, sadly.
