On a neon it was a set up just like the one on the srt were it has a intermediate shaft on the passenger side and this way you can run 2 drivers side axles on a neon the half shat set up was of a turbo k car but I can't remember which one lol

K cars had turbos? Kind of a contradiction...

I imagine, other than length possibly, all the turbo equipped cars from that era had about the same set up. Somewhere I have (or possibly had, never know with my father) a 1987 Shadow/Sundance equal length set up. You still need to fab a bracket to use with a 2.0, as those also bolted to the 2.2 block.

It was a car with an identity crisis tho. It had Shadow name plates on the exterior, and Sundance in the cabin.

Oh my bad Im not too knowledgeable on older mopars.
And yes I'm talking about the equal length set up. Which cars could I get this out of? I was also aware of having to make some sort of bracket for it. I'm looking into running something like this on my neon

Actually, there were, they were just Very uncommon.

I understand that Chrysler had some police-car K-car turbo packages - I don't know how many were built, or how many ended up in civilian hands.

Or, like the turbo K-car woody wagon that I saw at Neons 2009 a few years back.

Sorry for getting off-topic...... Free bump for this thread.

I wasn't doubting it, just never seen or heard of them.

But back to the halfshafts, I believe most of the early turbo cars had them. IDK if they retained them for the later 90's turbo cars, I think they dropped them tho.

I would look at the P bodies for sure, maybe the L bodies.

P body = Shadow Sundance

L body = Omni GLH/GHLS, Shelby chargers

Not sure if the Chrysler cars had them tho. It doesn't seem to stick in my memory, but then it may have just been the norm, so it didn't register as important at the time.

They were used with the 31th atx I also know that. IIRC, the halfshafts will swap with the t350. But the RH side length may not be correct?

Hopefully the pick a part has cars that old still there. It would be a very luck find... Most of them crush them if they sit too long anymore.

You probably already know this, but I throw it out there anyway...

Chrysler put turbos into their entire car line, from the L body to the S body. Keep in mind that from 1981 through 1990, all new cars that Chrysler brought to market was made on the K-Car platform. The first non-K car Chrysler made after the K introduction was the A bodied cars (Acclaim, Spirit, (new)Lebaron sedan).

Since most people think of K cars as the Reliant and Aries only (which were the only Ks not to get turbos in the states, but rumor is that they existed in Mexico), The Omni, Shadow/Sundance, Lebaron(sedan)/New Yorker, Lebaron(coupe/convertible), Lancer/Lebaron(hatch), TCs, and minivans did.

With all that said, the half shaft on the turbo motors was supported by a bracket and bearing assembly that bolted to the block. That would take some work to make happen.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

The good thing is, the 2.0 has a fair amount of threaded bosses on the back of the block. So there is at least a place to mount a fabbed bracket to mount the carrier bracket to.

It may take a little modding of what is already bolted to the block, but certainly miles ahead of nothing there to work with.

Now that you mention it, John, I do remember something of that K platform. I guess the L bodies being the start, back in 1978 kind of threw me like a bucking MILF on steroids.
