Post by z3roneo » Thu Jun 22, 2006 2:13 am

Alrighty.. Wanted to see if my turbo'd peeps would help me out with the Vacuum lines for all the turbo goodies...

A pic would be nice since I'm a visual learning...

I'm drawing one up right now so you guys can point me in the right direction...

I would really appreciate it...

what i did was took the brake booster line apart the one that runs beside the block that connects the brake booster to the im used that as my bov, fpr, and boost guage source. then took a line off the nipple of the turbo and ran it directly into the wga.

Edited: Corrected the pic.. Deleted the Line that connects the WGA and Compressor nipple from the tee that connects with the Boost Gauge and RRFPR.. (Was told on the org that running that line would cause a high idle  )

Nice... theHump.. Might just have to run mines from the Brake Boost Hose as well if I get a oil catch can..

Keep them coming..

I have an INDY manifold with 3 ports so I routed mine different............

brake booster goes from manifold to brake booster

2nd port goes to RRFPR and Tee's off to the BOV

3rd port goes to the greddy pressure sensor and boost guage

PCV tube goes to port on throttle body (other port on throttle body is pluged)

and rear crank case port is going to a catch can

Anybody wanna correct me on that?

Cool... just wanted to note that I changed mines up a bit.... I'm running the boost gauge and the Bov Line (on 1 line both on same line) and also the RRFPR (on it's on line) off the Brake Booster...

I'll post actually pics of this when the camera wakes up...

Did the camera wake up yet?

I'm thinking about doing a turbo in the future and all this is a big help, I was wondering how everything was run.

Here is a little vid I decided to do for you guys to better understand how I ran mine and how it should be done. After the TB on the bellows tube from a brass barb is where I get my signal for my FMU, BOV, and Boost Gauge. Hope this helps a little bit. Forgive me for the crappy vid. Wow. Then there's something wrong with my car, because I am above 50psi at idle, and up around 80psi when running it up.

Also, you're better off running independant vacuum lines to anything with a moving diaphragm. I have a seperate vacuum line for BOV, fuel pressure regulator, brake booster, and wastegate. Then everything that is just reference, such as the boost controller, the megasquirt, and the boost gauge are all teed. The way the video shows it works just fine, but you'll get stronger and more accurate signals if you're running them independantly.

so what do I have to do for running th srt turbo? what exactly do I run for that? also I got the fake greddy bov (running low boost) and it has 2 ends to put tubing on? not sure which one to connect to.

Why and what lines do we use to connect the brake booster to this whole setup?

the brake booster u will not have to tap into for the vaccum lines, it will just go into ur intake manifold.

i am not really familiar with the srt turbos, but u should just have to hook up ur wastegate to a nipple on ur compression housing.. i am not sure if there is anything else on a srt turbo that has to be installed for vaccum or not...

Can someone tell me the best way to route my vacuum lines. Here is what I'm using for a setup.

*Stock SRT turbo
*SRT intake manifold
*SRT tb spacer
*SRT tb
*Boost gauge
*BOV

Another question is, what is the line that runs into the little filter shaped piece? I can provide pictures if someone does not know what I'm talking about. It looks like a fuel filter but it's not.

Here is the best vac hose routing info I have come across in a while. It is taken from SRTforums, so I appoligize for copying it without permission.

Here's how to run the vacuum lines for different configurations of aftermarket parts.

*Note: In the aftermarket BOV diagrams that indicate to 'cap nipple' on the line coming off the turbo housing, this simply means either cap the nipple the Blue line was going to or eliminate the 'T' with a straight coupler (best option to avoid potential leaks).
