The only things i really see as a problem is the Ford Probe side mount IC and having to make very custom piping for it...the other problem is you'll still need to figure out your fuel setup...he has a 1:1 there, but unless your going MS or some other controlelr you'll need a RRFPR and a return line.

a stock srt-4 intercooler is a good idea, it will fit with the least problems.

great... i can pick one up for a good price, their very easy to come by...
now is this a good choice for that rising fuel regulator

and is this no good for fuel regulation? it does come with this unit:
Megan Racing Fuel Pressure Regulator.

Actually, if you want easiest, stay away from the SRT intercooler. Yes, they work ok, but they easiest and best way to run an intercooler on our cars is with a front mount intercooler with the inlet and outlet on the same side...like the Hahn sidewinder intercooler. They're just much more expensive than a used SRT unit. Running the hot side piping to the SRT intercooler is a pain in the butt. Just fyi.

The BEGI unit is pretty good, I havent heard anything bad about them. I went with a Chill Factory RRFPR, but i think they're out of business. you'll also need to spoolboy mod your fuel canister or by an AaronNeon Return Line kit.

is there a place to go to find a clone of the side winder intercooler. sounds like the hahn is a bit pricey! ($999.99 for pipes and intercooler)

wait....so if we get aaronneon's return kit we DO NOT need to spoolboy?

Thats always been my understanding of how the AaronNeon kit works...thats why it costs $230.00 instead of $50-$70 for the spoolboy mod...

uhhg, you dont need to do a spoolboy mod for aarons return line, they are too different systems. Aaronns return line attaches to the filler hose, which is a simple and easy way to go. Spool boy returns fuel back into the cansiter, which needs to stay submurged. The way the stock canister works is, it sucks fuel from the canister, at the regulator excess fuel is dumped back into the canister. So spoolboy is setting up a return line as it should work from the factory. People can argue about this, do what you like.
Aarons return line system can be done for $50 bucks just like the spool boy, why its $230 i dunno.
ALSO, i would like to point out that you DO need to do the spoolboy mod to bypass the stock regulator if you use a rrfpr. Some people use a booster pump or whatever but removing the regulaor is the best way to do this. With aarons kit or spool boy, either way you need to drop the tank.

Chill Factory is still around. You just have to get a hold of Dave Huffman for parts. DrvNsily on the dot org. I'm running one of his new ones and it's awesome.

looks like i'll have to wait until february for my mechanic to take a look at this kit, he's busy untill then doing a few srt-4 swaps.
ohh and what kind of BOV would fit on the "super 16g mitso turbo" because im not sure it comes with one?

Blowoff valves don't go on the turbo. They go on the pressure pipe before the throttle body. You can use any blowoff valve you want. Hopefully your mechanic knows what's up...

as quicksilvr was saying, the SRT intercooler definately isn't the easiest route. the hot side piping is quite the PITA. been there, done that. however, i do have an 00' so there was more work involved with getting the intercooler installed. but take his and my suggestion and find yourself an intercooler with the inlet/outlet on the same side, you will thank yourself later. you can usually find a decent intercooler on eBay and then have your mechanic fab up some piping for you. or search around for a used hahn unit.
Aaronn's kit is a nice alternative to the spoolboy mod...and, in my opinion, easier. if you are not mechanically inclined enough to throw a kit together like his you can always buy one.

cool,
i heard megasquirt is a pain in the ass and no good for what its worth, what is something that measures up against that, with more userfriendly usability?
is the SAFC 2 the same thing?

WHAT!?! I dunno who told you that, but they should be shot. To a dummy that's not willing to learn, maybe it's a pain in the butt. But even then, it is by far the BEST thing you can use for your money. If you want to turbo your car without blowing it up you're going to need to have enough patience to learn about how to tune it...period. And whether you buy an SAFC that has limited capabilites, or drop several thousand dollars on something like AEM EMS, you still are going to have to learn how to use it fully. Might as well learn how to use MegaSquirt....it's definately worth it. And there are always people here to help.

thanks for that answer, sounds interesting... i love to play with things i just think i might end up making a decision to fast and tune something and damage my engine or something... i guess i'm just a little paranoid with this turbo build thing because i've never attempted this big on my own before! anyways im always up for a challange! thanx bud

ya, it is a monumental journey, but when in boost it is definately worth it.

Just don't get addicted to boost like everyone else here and u won't have a problem.
Stick with 8psi and don't go up...

okay i got another question, if i'm going turbo should i put in a magnum cam in the place of my stock one?
(i got another set of tail lights so i would be trading it with a friend for his extra magnum cam)
