most people seem to use map clamps. there was a post somewhere that I read before with the exact differences and the benefits of each. I dont believe one is superior to the other, but basically from what I remember:
Map Clamp- Electronically limits the map sensor, downfall is it has to be adjusted to the right voltage.
missing link-mechanically limits the map sensor using a check valve between the sensor and manifold, i've heard of people having to modify the actual map sensor to get it to work though. and its pretty pricey considering you can make a map clamp for like $5.
I'd like to use the missing link, but I havent found anyone that actually tried it yet. my map clamp wasnt working so i completely ditched it, and when i went to buy the parts to make one they didnt have the diodes, and the potentiometer I got was the right part number but it says its only a .75 watt when the directions say to use a 1.25w. I'd like to hear if anyone has used the missing link and how they feel about it, also i'd like to know if anyone could tell me if that potentiometer i got is the right one or not. thanks, and i hoped I helped.

I know theres two for the neons, one with the integrated IAT sensor. Do you, or anyone else for that matter i guess. know the part number i need for my 2001? I really dont feel like hacking up my map sensor.Kevin_GP wrote:Missing link works great, fits on our maps perfectly and does its job. Its one of the few things on my turbo setup I never worried about.

you dont have the integrated air temp sensor in your map sensor right? you wouldnt be able to dig up the part number would you? i couldnt find it on modern, and i dont want to get the wrong one.Kevin_GP wrote:The one that fits the first gens is the one I bought. I bought it from modern and its only listed for first gens and he said it wouldnt work on second gens, but it fits perfect and works perfect.

yea i'll look into it. one website said the 003 was without the integrated air temp sensor. and another website said it was the one for the integrated air temp sensor. i'll figure it out lol. i think i'm gonna go the missing link route tho, wont have to mess with wires and wont have to worry about it.
