AEM Boost Controller

Post by Ryanm07 » Thu Mar 22, 2007 10:08 pm

Anyone use an AEM boost controller? I like the whole gauge and controller in a single unit concept. However it says it has two boost settings. is it only like low boost and high boost? Or do they have a way you can set it. Like say I want to run exactly 7 psi or some other random number? can I set it for that number and it will keep it there? I want something I can completely control, not something that wont give me that option. and the AEM website only says low and high boost settings. thanks!!!

Look on SRT forums for sure. I know a bunch of guys have switched over to the AEM tru boost set up. I haven't heard anything bad about them either.

You can set what boost level each setting puts you at. So like 8psi for autocross, and 20psi for drag, or whatever you set each to.

i prefer the turbosmart e-boost 2.

So many options, more than 4 different settings, controlled boost from time or rpm. i love it.

that eboost2 looks nice, but it is out of my price range. i'm not running like 20 psi anyway, i have a completly stock motor. I just notice that my wastegate is suppose to be set at 7psi and it will run about 4psi during normal lower RPM driving. But then at higher RPMS it will go up to about 8 psi. until it shifts out (its an auto). I want something thats priced well that I can set to whatever psi setting i want, that also has wastegate delay.

so basically the AEM has two settings but you get to set what their at? So say since my motor is stock I would be able to set the lower one for 7psi and the higher one for 10psi?

Yes. There are two programable boost settings, as well as a scramble boost setting. So, essentially you have three programable set points. The overboost warning and automatic shutdown are nice features too.

I'm using the AEM controller on my car, and I haven't had any problems with it.

I have the UEGO wideband and have had no problems, plus I like the price. it does have the wastegate delay right? because some websites say it does and others (including I believe AEM's) dont say anything about it.
