boosting problems

Well i bought a stage 2 waste gate from a fellow trader. I swapped it out tonight. I ran down the highway to test it out, well it seems like it's over boosting hitting like 20lbs or so. the mopar rice plate is hissing non stop when i kinda floor it. i shut the car off only for like 30 seconds and started it back up. Same thing. Should i disconnect the batter to maybe reset the ecu or something? or is this normal for a minute till the ECU learns the WGA??

it seems like now when the boost goes up to 15psi the mopar rice plate is just shooting air out and won't go past 15.

i have a stage 0 ecu by the way.

thank you for your help.

what is your pre-load?

Sounds like you need to pull it back. I have about .5 -1 mm preload and I boost 17-18PSI

http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthr ... ga+preload

Read here.. :)
Random quote from topic wrote: The only way to measure preload is with it on the car. Please reread the first post in this thread. The 4mm is not on the threaded part at all, but rather from where the arm enters the can of the WGA off the car, compaired with the location after install.

The arm always is able to rotate, but don't do it on purpose as you can loosen the nut inside the WGA. There is no functure of the rotation.
quote from another topic wrote:With the wga off the car draw a line where the arm meets the canister, use a sharpie. Now when you install it you will see that the mark has a gap between it (sometimes no gap sometimes large). The distance in MM between your mark and the canister is the pre-load.

0-1 MM for a stage 0 or 1 car

4mm for a stage 2 setup

+/- though, it is trial and error sometimes, especially if your not using a stage 2 pcm.

On stage 0 or 1: If the car feels sluggish to build boost you need more preload, if the car spikes to high heaven you got to much. Start low and work your way up, try to get it to spike below 18 and hold 15. If you have a wideband you can push the limit a little higher.
...and another wrote:Be careful with the 4mm preload, that is mainly the recommendation for a full S2 kit, with PCM, injectors, etc....I have a S2 WGA on my S0 and with 4mm of preload the spike a PTB were a little too much....I have it set alomost to 1 mm preload and it is perfect....When it is warm out it spikes at 17 and holds 15....So in less you have a ton of time to adjust I would start at little or no preload, and be sure to take into account air temp when adjusting....I think I hold 13-14 when it is near freezing out....

And here is the Search that I used ; http://www.srtforums.com/forums/search. ... id=3004419
