I've got a 2.0 ATX and i've been reading about boosting for the past few weeks, but I can't seem to find much info about boosting a 2.0 automatic neon.

Not looking for crazy numbers, 190hp - 200hp and i'll be happy.

I don't want to do a full srt-4 swap, I just want to sit back for a year and just slowly collect the parts I need to bolt on a srt-4 turbo including parts to rebuild some internal components for additional strength. I think if i take my time and wait for the right deals in like a year or so I should have the all required parts for about $1000-1300.

Would it make a difference if the car is auto? Problems? Solutions?

You would want to put some money into the auto. Like a RMVB and maybe a high performance rebuild kit.

I don't know the exact torque limit of the 3 speed, but I do know that info is available on the .org's FAQ. You would probably want a torque rating >220ft-lbs

Without rebuilding your engine your not going to want to exceed 7-8 psi, how many ponies thats gonna add its hard to say. The 3 speed auto can handle a lot of power with the rebuild kit, which will run you about 250 bucks. For twice the money you could just do a tranny swap, and would be just as much work. This is coming from a guy with a 4 speed, but I don't think you'd see 200 hp with an auto and a 2.0 but it would still be a big difference then what you run now.

very true about the 200whp. JRM has an SRT engine with an auto and barely missed 200whp
