Sounds like you're in just a little too high of gear and the engine is lugging. When does the bucking stop?

Its call compressor surge, don't do it. Just downshift instead.

Isn't that what causes the infamous 3rd gear problems?

i know it lugs but when im closing in on 3000 rpm it does liek a bucking that feels a little like a clucth slipping and i look at my boost gauge and it is bouncing from 12- 13 to 10 or 9 once i cross over 3300 rpm the bucking stops and the car takes off as always.. can i lug a turbo car? and when its lugging if i floor the car ( in a gear way to high on purpose) will the car still pick up like a normal car. my boost guage says about 13 when this happens and im around 2000 rpm ,i know i dont need to drive the car so low in a gear that is ment for higher speeds and when i dont do this the problem isnt there.
so, im wonderign if i am drving the car improperly?, being it is my first turbo car
thanks for the help

Don't do it if you want to keep your car. Floor it only after 3k rpm. what your doing is going into over boost.
use the transmission to your advantage. I don't know how many manual transmissions you've had but you can't drive like an automatic. you need to down shift if your gonna give it allot of gas.
In normal every day driving i will shift around 2800 to 3300 rpms. and never over 1/2 throttle.
if you still have the owners manual it will give you three ways Dodge recommends to drive/shift. economy / cruise / power.
they are just guides but may help you learn the ability's of your turbo car.
Enjoy and be careful.

SRT-4 PTB at its finest.

I've never had it.. Always leave your car on PCM Controlled boost, and stay with a Mopar WGA.. So much better driveablity..

Stage 3 fixes it too.

what he said about the PTB. i've made it happen once so far, and it won't happen again. i like my turbo spinning the way it's supposed to. also, what brand WGA are you running? there's a reason the mopars start bleeding at 4psi.

Exactly why I get rid of my Kinetic and having it controlling the boost.

i basically the same thing as the Stock on, except it is adjustable. Allows you to pick up a couple PSI spike and to redline. I ran 17spike, 14hold with it.
