I know this item has ended, but get this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... =p3907.m32

I say that because its a little better to have it sit on top rather directly on the back. My turbo is hitting my shifter cables due to a design similair to what you have there.

I miss my neon at times. She treated me well and taught me a lot about cars in general. I will always have a special place in my heart for these cars. Heres to the 2gn community.

That's been on ebay for years...
Its a log manifold to fit the neon head...
Early turbo dodge turbcharger(the 2.2 turbo 1's upto 1987?)
Downpipe from an early turbo dodge
Fittings from hardware store and early turbo dodge....
That turbocharger is ok as long as its rebuilt properly, but the SRT turbo surpases that design in the long run....

I guess it would fit, but it looks like you still need all the fuel parts, and intercooler parts, plus get a downpipe made up. So, for the price of that $440 turbo manifold and turbo, how much is it to get an SRT turbofold and adaptor, that will bolt right up to your stock downpipe? $400 or so? Stock SRT turbo is $200 or so used, and the adaptor plate is right arount $200. Sure, that manifold will allow you to upgrade later on and whatnot, but the bang for the buck is def a stock SRT turbo, and if the person is upgrading his turbo, he'll probably throw in the stock injectors for free, or cheap.

that's simply not true. The SRT uses what, a reverse-direction TD04 Mitsu? A TD04 and even a TD05 is smaller on both turbine and compressor side.

And if you're only looking for a little boost, then the Mitsu TEO4H (also found on older chrysler turbocars) is better. And cheaper.

Plus both can be *removed* from manifold. I can't stand the fact that SRT-4 came with an integrated design. The runners flow nice, but that exit path is rediculous.

I dunno, invujerry might have a point about ease, but I'm just not a fan of the reverse-rotation SRT turbo.

hey man, do what you do. I'm sure you could do it cheaper by piecing a kit together with a log manifold, and a junkyard turbo, but you still need fuel parts, do not forget that!

I don't understand why you have such a problem with the srt-4 turbo/manifold. It will be cheaper, produce more power than the stock block can handle, more reliable (oem part that is watercooled), and have the advantage of a large after market of parts. Stock srt-4 turbos on 2.0 liters maxed out have proven 300 hp, and thats alot of power for our cars. It doesn't matter if its not a superior design or not, the srt-4 turbo is more turbo than most people on this site. The kit you posted will work, but in the long run it will be more expensive than an srt-4 turbo. You still need to fab up a down pipe and IC pipe for that kit, both of which are easily found for the srt-4 turbo.

There is no cheaper option to source together a *reliable* turbo kit for sohc neons than the srt-4 turbo. Alot of people run it for a reason.

Well I have reasons why but I'm keeping it under wraps until I put my money where my mouth is and do it ;)
