twin turbo??
The car is visually... well let's just hope he finishes it and it turns out better than it looks like it will. it also has some weird half-assed coilovers on it, but the engine.... ??

Thats old news, its a DarrelCox racing twin turbo setup thats been built since 2005....
Hello, and welcome to my web page. You're looking at the first 2000 TwinTurbo dodge neon with a srt 4 swap. This car was built by Darrell Cox with his patend automative racing transmission. It has been a very slow progress, but well worth the wait.

Yep.. there are several in Florida.
The picture you showed is actually a swapped 2.4L that isn't from the SRT.
From what I remember they later dropped in the A855.
The thing i absolutely hate about that car is the welded rear doors. I hope he doesn't call his car a coupe. Because it isn't. it's a Sedan with welded rear doors. The front Bumper is hideous too.
Besides the Performance I think the car is a Hack job. They took something that could of been great and ruined it.

^^^ couldnt have said it any better....would have been great.....i personally would have just left it as a sleeper or put SRT bumpers & skirts on it.

Yeah Mox you summed up my thoughts as I looked at the rest of the pictures. Looks very "ghetto". I just thought the engine was interesting.
So what of the engine? What if any benefit or problem is there with running twins on a 2.4, either an SRT engine or otherwise?
That was basically what I wanted to discuss, not this car's atrocity

DCR did the twins as kind of a "look what i can do!" deal.

well i'm no turbo expert, but you'll spool up a shit ton faster...
and on the note of the hack job... it kind of reminds me of my duster. we all do stupid shit to out first car. i bet that this was some kid who's parents paid for it all. it's a shame they didn't tell him he was stupid

Ok then spool aside, what about boost? Do we know what turbos are on there (likely)?

i thought the kit used 2 stock SRT turbos? i could be wrong. i know that its 2 stock SRT manifolds put together.

how is that possible? the manifolds and turbo exhaust housings are integrated, so you can't exactly "flip" it over.

DCR takes 2 stock manifolds and does some cutting and welding and painting and ta da, all done. you CAN use the stock setup, but they recommend using some E1's

Its a quicker spool over one large Turbo, But in my opinion the twins are just a Attention getting item, As with that quick of a spool and the power levels the car is useless unless you're going from a roll.

One big trubo > two small turbos

Yeah DCR has the twins as a kit for $3999. It's best to use E1 turbos. The stock kits produce over 420 hp with little tuning. The only reason for this setup is that there is no lag time for spool up. They can be pushed to max boost and create a ton of power. The only problem with that is it will just get to the wheels too fast and create hell for traction. If you like to race from a roll then this setup is perfect.
There are a lot of possibilities for this setup but in a FWD car most are pointless.

road course and could care less about drag racing

you are obviously not, this setup was spooling at between 5 and 6k rpm. thats really not faster, in fact you could spool a t67 by 5k and make more power.

Damn that's horrible.
Single turbo w/ 3" exhaust is the way to go 98% of the time.

Its pretty much the way to go all the time with 4 cylinder cars. I don't see why spool time would be faster than with a big single, half the exhaust gases are being used. You are just adding alot of weight and unnecessary components (ie failure points) for the "cool" factor. I think its cool that people are stepping out of the box, but this does not make much sense.
