Advice on Turbos....with an auto

I recently saw an automatic neon for sale that had an srt-4 turbo setup. Previously I thought that a turbo + auto tranny( and it was a 3 speed!) was bad; But now I am reconsidering.
Would my 4 speed auto tranny be able to handle the output of say a art-4 turbo setup, or any other lowish boost setup?
thank

im a newb to the turbo thing but i dont see why it wouldnt make the car faster but it deffantly wont be able to handle much boost, i thought i read some where that the 3 speeds can handle alittle more abuse vs the 4 speed. The SRT auto car thats forsale has a rebuilt level 10 trans, i believe. If so way more reliable than the standard 3 speed.
someone correct me if im wrong.

I've been rocking my 4spd Auto for 6-7 months now on 7psi DAILY and it runs fine, no shifting problems, fluids still nice and pink, nice smell, it's all good on my ride.
But that's probably because I keep my fluid flushed, filter changed, and check it frequently, so it was in perfect shape before I boosted the car.
If your tranny is having a rough life before turbo, then it will not live very long on boost.

i take it you are talking about this car?

as krack has said before, that srt swapped neon has a built tranny so it will last a long time. it really depends what shape your trans is in now and how hard you would drive your car after you turbo to know if it will last. if you take care of it like lambostealth, then i don't see why it wouldn't last for the life of the engine.

Well thats good to hear because i'm planning on boosting my neon on a auto tranny as well...hey jake if you still aren't sure, go look up the SFI approved flex plate on Howell Automotive, they say its good for an auto or manu tranny when boost applies....
