Nice first post, better than most. Most importantly, what kinda budget are you working with, and what do you want out of the car? Stage 2 will get you plug and play reliability, and some not-too-shabby numbers, but I'd never do it. For the money spent, you can get an sct tuner and flash the stock computer, an aftermarket adjustable wga, and get a nitrous express intercooler sprayer that uses nitrous (or co2), and probably have money left over. If you're local to ams, that's the route I'd go.

Not that AMS is bad. They do good work. But they are also extremely expensive. If I were going to mod an SRT, I would do it the right way. Manage it, and put a much bigger turbo on it.

thats the thing im not sure how much i want to spend... yet... cuz dealing with skool and work and life... its a hit in my pocket... but i can come up with the cash.... i want the car as a daily driver... but still b able to punch it... and teach some lil tuners a lesson.. lol... so u guys think it would be better off... going with the stage 2 with toys....

no, stage 2 is a joke. Stage 1 is the only worthwhile stage upgrade, and only then if you want to stay stock turbo and mod without getting cels. You can get all the benefits of stage 2 out of aftermarket parts for cheaper than stage 2, and still be streetable and reliable.

it all depends on your goals on what turbo setup to get. Iirc the 20g is only good to about 350hp. If you're gonna go big turbo might as well shoot for the moon and get one that can support 500hp, even if you don't tune for that much to start. Why limit yourself to a low number that you'll probably get tired of at some point?
Me personally, my plans were for a gt3067r, 28-30psi, and all the fun stuff that goes along with supporting that, and shooting for 450-500hp.

No one has mentioned lag yet in this thread, which IMO is a huge part of tuning a turbo car. Do you want a 1/4 mile contender or something fun on the street and circuit? A big turbo is only as good as its spool time, which can kill circuit times and make street driving much less fun. 400-500+ whp is straight overkill for a street car IMO, even if you take it to the track often. Power output is only the beginning of building a fast car; getting traction and having a suspension and brakes to balance the package is where the real wallet damage comes into play. Tune for balance, not some hp number. A mild turbo and a good tune would be a great start IMO. Upgrade from there.

i hate to be the negative nancy in this thread, but your only choice is big turbo or nothing at all...
You wont be getting a Mopar Stage kit anytime soon........reliable source informed me that mopar is having some problems......
They're out of S1 pcm's, out of S2 injectors, out of S3 turbo's..........
leave it to mopar to muck things up

The 2.4 spools bigger turbos well anyway. They are still very drivable at 400+ HP.

Perhaps my idea of a big turbo is different from other peoples. I consider a big turbo the kind that they throw on Supras to make 1200whp. 400hp turbos are medium in my book

Bigger and just plain big are 2 different things. I consider my turbo "bigger". I'll let you guess what it is.

It's a secret. I'll post up when it's running it and making lots of tire smoke.
