Pretty sure you need to remove the heat shields first...then you should be able to unbolt it from the head I would think, shouldn't be that difficult. I think you also need to unbolt the o2 housing also from it. I'd say remove the coil pack and valve cover, but that is probably not necessary, just in case you want more room to work with...

Taking the turbo off the manifold is very easy. Once the lines are removed, loosen the clamp that holds the two halves together and the turbo comes off. We had the head removed in these shots, so I'm not sure if you can get it out with the head in place or not.

Lol I figured it wouldn't make sense, I just though well it is attached to the manifold, so you kinda have to remove the bolt in order to pull it out...But maybe not lol

Removing the turbo first makes getting to the O2 housing sooo much easier. Hell, it only took doing the job twice the hard way to figure this method out :lol:
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Thanks for the pics dante, there's almost no fucking room back there. I need to swap out turbos and clear the lines this week
