EBAY Turbo... Actually more then a hood orderment?
Has anyone actually ran on of those 50trim, $150 Turbo's?
Thinking about getting one to hold my hood up at car show's..

I found jusmx141's posts to be informative and echo the rest of the reviews for ebay turbos around the internet.

I've also read of people having problems with the waste gate actuators. I certainly wouldn't slap one on without checking it.

If I was going to run one, I would rebuild it with a quality kit, possibly port the wastegate opening and have it balanced. Of course if you buy one without an internal wastegate you'll need to pop for an external. Then $200+ later (plus whatever you spent on the turbo) you get a slower spooling turbo with poor resale value that may or may not last.
I wouldn't count on whatever warranty they say they provide either.
I would rather get a used quality turbo that wasn't way too big for what I had planned. Same thing with all the ebay manifolds, nay, all the ebay parts out there.
Then again, none of that applies if you just want a hood prop.

well as long as you know what your looking at when you get it....... i think i would run a screen between the turbo and intake case it fly's apart!!! keep us updated if you buy one!
