I've always been skeptical on those things, it's odd they sell them so cheap....there's got to be a catch to them...

It would definitely look sweet to prop your hood open though :)

I found jusmx141's posts to be informative and echo the rest of the reviews for ebay turbos around the internet.
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/dead-en ... turbo.html

I've also read of people having problems with the waste gate actuators. I certainly wouldn't slap one on without checking it.
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/article ... ticle.html

If I was going to run one, I would rebuild it with a quality kit, possibly port the wastegate opening and have it balanced. Of course if you buy one without an internal wastegate you'll need to pop for an external. Then $200+ later (plus whatever you spent on the turbo) you get a slower spooling turbo with poor resale value that may or may not last.

I wouldn't count on whatever warranty they say they provide either.

I would rather get a used quality turbo that wasn't way too big for what I had planned. Same thing with all the ebay manifolds, nay, all the ebay parts out there.

Then again, none of that applies if you just want a hood prop.

you'd be the first with one of those!

but seriously...i wouldn't bother. you'll spend more later trying to correct something it messed with.
